A new study by researchers at the University of Bradford found that women are significantly better than men at shifting concentration. Amarylis Fox, who helped to conduct the study, said: “Women seem to realise that they are being asked to do something new much more quickly than men.”
They believe that hormones in the brain could explain why men are better with spatial tasks while women are better at shifting their attention around and doing many tasks at the same time. Coupled with a previous experiment showing that women were exhibiting sharp improvement in completeing mental tasks when their oestrogen was at a peak level, this study further lays down the bases of understanding the many differences between men and women.
