Moving from Bloglines to Google Reader

Following my last post about Google Reader, I present here a simple method for moving from Bloglines to Google Reader. It’s pretty straightforward and works pretty well.

  • Make sure you are logged with your Google account and your Bloglines account.
  • In Bloglines, make your suscribtions public by going to your “Blog settings”. You can take a username there too.
  • Go to that URL: http://www.bloglines.com/export?id=yourid and replace yourid with the id you noted on the previous step.
  • At this point, you should have a XML file in front of you. Save it on your hard drive.
  • In Google Reader, go to your suscribtions and upload your file using the Import tool.
  • Wait for a second… Then you should be able to read all of your bloglines feeds in Google Reader.

You’re done and you can enjoy your RSS feeds inside Google Reader now! Method inspired from Webby’s World.

Oops, sorry about that! I wanted to add a better conclusion but mistakenly deleted the line conatining the link, while I wanted to keep it… I’ll put it back up ASAP.
