Katrina – Before and after

We’ve all heard of how devastating Katrina was, how much chaos is speading in Louisiana right now, so I won’t bother you again with this. If you are in position to give something, go give blood, I think that would be the most useful thing to do.

I just want to share a stunning photography made with QuickBird, a satellite owned by DigitalGlobe, which shows the New Orleans Superdome before and after the hurricane. The amount of destruction is impressive. The “before” picture was taken on March 9, 2004. The “after” picture was taken Wednesday. I think that the images can speak for themselves.

[...] Google Maps has been added a satellite photography of New Orleans after the swept by Katrina. You can now navigate easily and compare with the older photo, just as it has been done in this case for the Superdome.
