This time, the Vatican Newspaper, L’Ossevatore Romano publishes an article saying that ID is not science and that teaching it along with evolution in school classroom only creates confusion. The author, Fiorenzo Facchini, a professor of evolutionary biology at the University of Bologna, laid out the scientific rationale for Darwin’s theory of evolution, saying that in the scientific world, biological evolution “represents the interpretative key of the history of life on Earth.” [...]

Well if it's any consolation, a school board in Pennsylvania that voted 8 - 0 in favor of the Intelligent Design theory was completely voted out of office in the elections last week.

Sean is absolutely right. To question a scientific theory is a good thing, but to dismiss a theory because of minor flaws and replace it with something that has more flaws is not pretty scientific either...

Seems like Ookami Snow doesn't understand the scientific facts involved.

To say that evolution has problems is like saying Mathematics has problems: each advance we make brings forth new and interesting unsolved challenges at a deeper level. To misunderstand, or not even bother trying to understand, the basic facts and to try to short-circut the scientific process with "Science is unnecessary, God did it" is an insult to both the scientific community and the faith community.
