Katrina – Before and after

We’ve all heard of how devastating Katrina was, how much chaos is speading in Louisiana right now, so I won’t bother you again with this. If you are in position to give something, go give blood, I think that would be the most useful thing to do.

I just want to share a stunning photography made with QuickBird, a satellite owned by DigitalGlobe, which shows the New Orleans Superdome before and after the hurricane. The amount of destruction is impressive. The “before” picture was taken on March 9, 2004. The “after” picture was taken Wednesday. I think that the images can speak for themselves.

A Call to Arms!

I’ve added a new feature on the sidebar. It’s called Interact here!. You may register and start interacting with the content at Konquest Online. So if you’re interested in science in general and like to communicate with others, feel free to join.

The site will be a lot more dynamic if we are a couple of people posting than if it’s just me. You register, you post. The blog will be much more alive and nice things may arise from many people posting at the same place.
